7 Day Detox for Beginners

Day 1-3 – Juice Fast

-How it’s done:  Drink a minimum of 3 12oz freshly-made organic juices. Feel free to drink as much juice as you want throughout the day.  Refrain from eating any food.  You can still drink plenty of water while on the juice fast.  Here is a simple formula to make great tasting juices.

1 Sweet Food + 1 Tart Food + 1 “High-Yielding” food + 1 Earthy / Root Food = Great Tasting Juice
Sweet: apples, pears, grapes, melons, pineapples, oranges, kiwis, mangoes, berries, grapes
Tart: lemons, limes
High-yield: Cucumbers, celery, fennel, tomatoes, melons
Roots: beets, carrots, turnips, parsnips
Greens: Kale, spinach, lettuce, chard, arugula, mustard greens, beet greens, dandelion, sorrel, broccoli
Herbs: Basil, parsley, cilantro, mint
Spicy: Ginger, hot peppers (use judiciously)

-Benefits:  Juicing allows nutrients to flood your bloodstream quickly, and efficiently, while still giving most of your digestive tract a break.  These nutrients balance out the free-radicals in the system, and give the body, especially the liver, what it needs to detoxify the body.


Day 4  – Water Fast

-How it’s done:  Drink a minimum of a gallon of filtered water a day, and consume no foods or other juices.  If this is your first time water-fasting, see how long into the day you can go.  If you can’t complete a full day, mark down how long you went and try again the next week, making sure you break your record last week.

-Benefits: Fasting increases your immune system, decreases cancer risk, and increases growth hormone in the body, resulting in quick healing, and decreased inflammation.

-Side-notes:  Please be safe with the water-detox.  Let friends and family know that you are doing the fast so that they check up on you.  If you are a diabetic, please let your MD know and monitor your blood sugar.  Many people feel sick, get headaches, and get dizzy while doing a water-fast.  THIS IS A NORMAL RESPONSE that is not due to low blood sugar.  Usually these are sugar and caffeine withdrawls that the individual needs to go through.


Days 5-7  – Whole Fruits & Veggies

  • How it’s done: Using our list of approved foods and your inner cravings, eat 2-3 meals a day.  Cut out as much snacking as possible and skip either breakfast or dinner, depending on your need to eat early or late.

Schedule 1 (Breakfast-Lovers)

8 AM     Eat as much as you want of the approved food list
12 PM    Have a small snack / meal of the approved food list
4 PM     Have as much as you want of the Approved food list
7 PM     Drink 1 tsp sea-salt dissolved in H20 8 PM

Schedule 2 (Dinner-Lovers)
8 AM      Drink a glass full of H20 with 1 tsp of sea-salt mixed in
12 PM     Have as much as you want of the approved food list
6 PM      Have as much as you want of the approved food list
8 PM Have a small snack / meal
